In order for the gear reduction motor to operate efficiently and reduce the failure during use, advanced lubrication technology must be used as a guarantee. Choosing the correct and reasonable lubrication method is the prerequisite for the safe and smooth operation of a geared motor. The lubrication of geared motors
can be divided into three types:
1. Complete full oil film lubrication. The surface of the geared motor is completely separated by the elastic hydrodynamic oil film, and the friction on the surface of the gear is transformed into the intermolecular friction inside the oil film with a small friction coefficient. The thickness of the oil film is not affected by the load. At this time, the probability of damage such as pitting, gluing, and abrasion is the smallest, which is an ideal state.
2. Boundary lubrication. In order to avoid direct contact between the tooth surfaces, an oily agent and an extreme pressure agent should be added to the base oil to improve the performance of the lubricating oil,forming an adsorption film and an extreme pressure lubricating film. This is an unstable lubrication state.
3. Mixed lubrication state. It is between the former two. The gear surface of the geared motor has both elastohydrodynamic lubrication and boundary lubrication. This lubrication state is very different.
