The brushless gear motor is made up of a brushless motor, gearbox and a driver. Brushless motor refers to the motor without brush and commutator (or slip ring), also known as commutatorless motor. When considering the gearbox for BLDC motor, brushless DC motor with planetary gearbox is the common type. A brushless DC gear motor generally utilizes a permanent magnet as its external rotor. Unlike the brush DC gear motor whose windings are on the rotor, the windings are on the stator for brushless motors. In addition, it uses three phases of driving coils and a specialized sensor that tracks the rotor position. After tracking the position change of the rotor, the position sensor commutates the current of the stator winding in a certain sequence (that is, detecting the position of the rotor pole relative to the stator winding, and generating a position sensing signal at a certain position, which is processed by the signal conversion circuit to control the power switch circuit.).
The features of BLDC gear motor:
1. No carbon brush, low interference. The BLDC motor driver module removes the carbon brush, thus no electric spark will be generated when the BLDC motor drive system is running, which greatly reduces the electric spark’s interference to remote control radio equipment.
2. Low noise and smooth operation. The brushless gearbox has no brushes. Therefore, the friction is greatly reduced during operation, and the noise will be much lower, which improves the running stability of the brushless DC gear motor.
3. Long life and low maintenance cost. After removing carbon brush, the main abrasion of BLDC motor lies on the bearing. From a mechanical point of view, the brushless geared motor is almost a maintenance-free motor. You just need to do some dust removal maintenance when necessary.
