Brushed DC gear motor refers to a gear motor combination of gearbox and brushed DC motor. The brushed DC motor is a type of DC motor. The stator of the brushed DC motor is equipped with fixed main magnetic poles and brushes, and the armature winding and commutator are installed on the rotor. The electric energy of the DC power supply enters the armature winding through the brush and the commutator to generate armature current. The magnetic field generated by the armature current interacts with the main magnetic field to generate electromagnetic torque, which makes the motor rotate to drive the load. Due to the brushes and commutators, brushed motors have a complex structure. The brush needs periodic replacement, thus the brushed gear motor needs regular maintenance.
The good controllability of DC gear motor an obvious advantage that makes DC motors popular. This simple machine transforms DC current into mechanical rotation, which can be controlled by simply changing the input voltage or reversing its leads. This reverse is generally conducted by the DC gear motor controllers for brushless DC gear motors. Things are different for brushed DC gear motor. The current direction reverse is fulfilled by the commutator. Thus brushed gear motors don’t need the DC gear motor controllers.
When it comes to the classification of brushed DC gear motor, the 6V brushed dc motor and 24V brushed motor are common types of the micro DC gear motor. They feature:

2. Smooth running, good starting and braking effect.
3. With gearbox and encoders combined, the brushed gear motors have higher output torque. The precision can reach 0.01 mm.
