The motors are generally divided into three classifications: DC motors, AC motors, special motors.
- DC motor: this kind of motor generally consists of the permanent magnet, carbon brush, metal brush and hollow cup.DC motors generally include coreless motors, brushed motor and so on.
- AC motor: this kind of motor can be used directly. Common motors include series motor, asynchronous motor, synchronous motor, and capacitor motor.
- Special motor: This kind of motor must be matched with the driver, most of them contain the requirements of speed and position control. This kind of motor includes brushless motor, stepper motor, servo motor, etc.
Brushless Motor: fully called brushless DC motor( BLDC motor), it is divided into Hall and Hallless, inner rotor and outer rotor, internal or external controller, and sometimes has a constant speed control function. The BLDC motor has the characteristics of long life, low interference, no spark, high precision and smooth running, which is suitable for high precision instruments.
Stepper Motor: the motor needs to pay special attention to the small starting torque, which is not suitable for load starting; in addition, unlike other types of motors, the speed is determined by an external controller. Servo Motor: the motor is a rotary actuator or linear actuator that allows for precise control of angular or linear position, velocity and acceleration. It consists of a suitable motor coupled to a sensor for position feedback. It also requires a relatively sophisticated controller. Servo motors, determined by their use, can be constructed of any motor, but mostly stepper and brushless motors. Servo motors are used in applications such as robotics, CNC machinery or automated manufacturing.
