Automated guided vehicle(AGV) is a truck equipped with electromagnetic or optical automatic guiding devices, being able to run according to a prescribed guide path, having protect prevention and other load shifting function. Being a track without driver in industrial application, AGV adopts rechargeable battery as power source. The route of travel and motion of AGV can be controlled through computer or electromagnetic path-following system. AGV moves or acts depending on message from electromagnetic path stick on the floor.
The significant feature of AGV is unmanned driving. The automatic guidance system equipped on AGV can ensure the car run following a predetermined route automatically and deliver the goods to the destination. Another feature of AGV is great flexibility, high degree of automation and intelligence.
The route of AGV can be adjusted according to the changing requirements like storage location and production process, and the cost of operation route changing is low in comparison with traditional conveyor belt and rigid transmission line. Loading and unloading structure equipped on AGV can connect with other logistics device automatically, achieving automation of loading & unloading, handling process. Miniature motor for AGV is a kind of mini drive motor with small power, and the main structure consists of brushless DC motor and gearbox. The drive motor adopts brushless DC motor as drive source, and gearbox can adopts planetary gearbox or worm gearbox.
AGV has a subsystem with capacities of speed control and braking, which includes motor,gearbox, drive, control and drive circuit. The drive system is generally closed loop and open loop,the former is mainly servo DC motor, while the latter is stepper motor.
