With the help of a gear motor, electric standing desks become multi-functional. With just a press of a button, desks can easily switch between standing and sitting. There are many intelligent sit & stand desks currently available on the market, but they're met with problems such as insufficient load-bearing, limited switchable gears (limited lifting range), short service life, high power consumption, etc. Desks fail to lift smoothly if the speed is not well controlled.

The ZHAOWEI intelligent lifting gearbox can be adopted for electric lifting desks. The height of the lifting desk can either be adjusted by the mechanism controlled by the motor, or adjusted by a gas spring/hydraulic rod controlled by the compressor. The lifting mechanism of the standing desk is composed of a lifting column, a controller, and a control button. The lifting gearbox is installed in the lifting column, and can simply be adjusted by a customized unique-shaped motor with a planetary gearbox, making adjustments quieter, and with high torque. The gearbox has two-stage, three-stage, and four-stage transmission adjustments available. The reduction ratio, input speed and torque of the gearbox can be changed according to the design requirements of the starting motor of the lifting column. Using the provided information, the control system can then verify the correctness. Once the corresponding feedback is given, the motor starts. The motor, combined with the ZHAOWEI gearbox, results in a smart lifting desk, which provides stable lifting at even speeds, and doesn't get stuck.


The quality of the smart standing desk is precisely determined by its lifting range, operating noise, load-bearing performance, and service life. In an active group work setting, a little faint noise may be made, but can be easily ignored. Confronted with the risk of amplified noise in quieter settings, we then optimize the design of the gear structure. Using kinematics simulation and finite element analysis, the integrated design platform for the gearbox is used to achieve the automatic parameter design of the involute planetary gear system, bevel gear, face gear and other mechanisms. By optimizing the gear parameters, including the displacement coefficient, the tooth coefficient, the pressure angle, the center distance, etc., the meshing shock velocity is reduced. The ratio of the velocity impact when meshing out to the engagement impact velocity when meshing in is at a certain range. The gear design method that reduces the impact of the meshing pitch circle helps to meet the requirement of low noise.
